THE SOIL : the aubergine adapts well to numerous types of soil, however, the best results (earliness and yield) are obtained in loose, soft soils with high water capacity but draining and rich in organic substance. It prefers neutral or sub-acid reaction media. Tolerates moderately saline soils.
BASIC FERTILIZATION : the nutritional requirements are high especially in the ripening phase. In addition to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, calcium and magnesium are also of considerable importance. Micronutrients are also important. Add at least 20 days before transplanting and incorporate organic fertilizer (mature fermented manure, compost) and / or slow release mineral fertilizers with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in a balanced ratio into the soil.
TRANSPLANTATION : to be carried out in the coolest hours of the day. Wet the lump well before planting it on the ground and lightly irrigate the soil to facilitate engraftment. Bury only the lump.
DISTANCE : on the row, that is between one plant and another, leave 60-80 cm; between rows leave 80-100 cm for transit.
